Glitter makeup can be very cool and chic... especially around the holidays. I love to wear glitter and use it on set... It's a way to add a simple yet fun element to the look I'm creating. I believe that people of all ages can pull off a glitter look! Glitter is a state of mind... just tailor it to your esthetic.
If you're a minimalist, wear a sheer wash of glitter balm from Wet N Wild just across the lids with a slick of mascara.
If you're a daring fashionista pair your black glitter eye with a menswear inspired tuxedo suit.
I love to wear a sheer gold glitter on the eyelids with a matte red lip for a chic french girl kinda vibe.
Concentrate the brush on the inner and outer corners for a more dramatic effect.
Once you're happy with your application and intensity, take a more dense brush from the same Real Techniques set and soften just at the perimeter of your work... this will leave it super light and seamless.
Now for the fun bit... Add a touch of eye shadow primer to the center of the eye lid right above the the top lash and just under the bottom lash.... Then, with a small detail brush, dip into MAC Gold Glitter and carefully press over tacky shadow primer.
Keep working the glitter until you're happy... I love the bottom lash glitter as it looks slightly cool and unintentional.
Apply lots of your favorite mascara. Mine is Loreal Voluminous in Carbon Black.
I like very minimal and natural contour... so I'm using a taupe eye shadow from Rodial called Eye Sculpt. It's the perfect tone for pale girls.
Real Techniques make this great little brush for shading... it comes in a set of 3 but I love this one the most.
Tie your subtle contour together by skimming a little of the Eye Sculpt under the jaw line and around the temples of the face.
For a light finishing touch apply, a soft nude lip like NARS Velvet Lip Glide in Stripped.
